Norman hosts busy upcoming children’s programming schedule

The Norman Public Library and its Children’s Services staff have a little something for all ages in their weekly programming schedule, which feature stories, music, crafts and much more.

Once the latest segment of the library's flooring project is completd at the end of January, the following schedule will take place February through April except when the library is closed. All programs will take place at the downtown Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave., unless otherwise noted.

Miss Denilyn's Super Sequoyah Suggestions - 2014 Edition!

DenilynMiss Denilyn of the Norman Public Library is back with reviews the 2014 crop of Sequoyah Children's Book Award nominees!

According to the Oklahoma Library Association, who sponsors the award, the Sequoyah is the third-oldest children's choice award in the nation, the first prize having been awarded in 1959.  The 2013 winner was The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleberger.

Which book will win this year?  If you're a student in grades 3-5, read at least three of the books from the 2014 Sequoyah Children's masterlist and you can vote for your favorite!

Tuesday morning is time for stories and fun at Norman West

Norman Public Library West invites children and families to its weekly Story Time, at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays in the Children’s Area of the new library, 300 Norman Center Court.

Each week families can gather for books, music, stories and more fun and then check out everything the library has to offer.

The story time is taking the place of the library’s Sooner Mall Story Time, as it moves down the street to Norman West, the newest library service point in the Pioneer Library System.
