Library to be closed May 22 for summer preparations

The Newcastle Public Library is getting in gear for its annual Summer Reading Program, but that means a day of spring cleaning to get things in order.

Thursday, May 22, the library will be closed so staff can get things in order. The library will reopen for its normal hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 23.

This year’s Summer Reading Program features a science theme, with a variety of programs and activities for all ages, beginning with a kickoff event at 2 p.m. June 2 featuring KFOR NewsChannel 4 meteorologist Emily Sutton and her entertaining and informative presentation about weather.
